Pavillion –

We are currently building a pavilion which will have multiple uses.  Until we are able to build additional classrooms, it will serve as an additional classroom.  With 75 children in our youngest classroom, it’s imperative that we create extra space to make a classroom quickly.  Once we have our additional 4 classrooms built, we will continue to utilize this space for eating, fellowship, leadership development, seminars, and chapel.

Sunbeams Fashion and Design

We are renovating the home we purchased to give our sewing ladies a place they can call their own.  With some renovation inside and a nice shade outside our sewing ladies will be able to have what they dreamed of – a sewing school with a boutique to sell their clothes, purses, and bags.  To see the transformation of the women in this sewing class in the last year has been so encouraging.  They are the heartbeat of this village and their community, learning, and prayerful life has inspired all of us at Sunbeams Uganda. As soon as we are renovated and they are moved in, we are confident they will be completely self-sustaining.  These incredible women in the village of Kijjude make clothes, purses, and bags with no electricity and no patterns.  Each one is uniquely designed.  To purchase your dress or bag click here.

Sunbeams Christian Primary & Nursery School - Phase 1 - Opening 2024

Education is essential in empowering people to rise out of their poverty and shine. We are committed to building a school with high academic and character standards. The students will learn fluent English giving them the best opportunity to continue in education or employment. Without knowing fluent English, Ugandans are extremely limited where opportunities are already extremely limited. As we know, beginning a second language at the youngest of ages empowers them to be fluent at a young age, raising them up to thrive.

Main Objectives:

  1. Encourage and educate 200 of the youngest children in the area through a high standard school program designed to care about the whole child’s development. We desire to be a school that lives and teaches the love of Christ and Encourages, Equips, and Empowers the children to live out their God-given dreams and desires.

  2. Employing and Empowering local Ugandans in the construction and sustaining of the school.

  3. Resourcing and Equipping Ugandans to see their dreams for their village become a reality.

Phase 1 consists of 6 classrooms, 8 toilets, and a playground.

Run for a school in Kijjude

Sewing empowers women

Our Sewing Project is doing better than we could have imagined!

We transformed space in a woman’s home into a sewing school where classes are held each day. The women are thriving and we have some amazing fashion designers in Kijjude.

It’s life giving to be learning a trade for income while gaining dignity and self respect. Madaam Teddy, our sewing teacher, is loved by the ladies and she is not only teaching them to sew, she is also encouraging healthy community, discipleship, and sharing the gospel. We are so blessed to have Madaam Teddy take on this important role of teaching ladies to sew clothes and seeds of faith.

Women, like Rose, are going from despair to thriving joyful leaders as they are blessing their village through our DONATE A DRESS PROGRAM.
